SparklyOfYourVeryOwn

Handmade jewelry for the nickel-challenged

Flemington, New Jersey

Announcement    A few years back, I developed a pretty nasty nickel allergy. I had no trouble finding perfectly nice nickel-free studs, but was less than impressed with most of the nickel-free dangly earrings I found. They just looked really cheap and mass-produced, especially when I was used to making my own jewelry; I was going from artisan-made to Tar-jay.
Added to that was an observation:
"Wow, I have a lot of beads. I should really start making things for other people, so I can start supporting my bead habit."
And from that combination, Sparkly Of Your Very Own was born.
I won't promise you that everything I make will be nickel-free (mostly because sometimes, I can't SWEAR that a finding actually is), or that you won't have an allergy/reaction to something else that IS nickel-free (some people have sensitivities to copper or titanium. I myself don't seem to be allergic to copper, though it turns my skin interesting shades of green). But I WILL promise that everything that is indeed nickel-free, will be clearly marked as such, anything that isn't will be clearly marked that way, too, and I will disclose all ingredients used to make something, right down to the adhesive (because I'm allergic to Krazy glue, too).
I'm certainly planning to focus on the nickel-free items, because that's sorta the whole point! But there are other things I'd like to share with you all, too. I am eclectic. I loom knit stuff, so you may see some of that. Not that there's any nickel in yarn (not that I'm aware of, anyway), but it doesn't fit the jewelry category.
So watch this space, folks! I hope everyone enjoys the items that I'm happy to make for you. :-)
Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to helping you with your jewelry needs.
